Occupancy Statistics

Occupancy Surveys

Accommodation occupancy surveys allow individual businesses to compare performance amongst their peer group and, over time, to build up their own historical trend data. The collection of occupancy data is also important to demonstrate demand for tourism across the South West as a whole and at a County and District level where possible. It helps support the need for investment in tourism development and is the basis for establishing the volume and value of tourism in the South West.

South West Tourism undertakes three regional occupancy surveys, collecting data for serviced accommodation, self-catering and caravan and camping establishments.

Participation in the surveys is free and completely confidential and open to all accommodation providers across the SWT region. All it takes is a few minutes of your time each month to complete a simple form and return it in the pre-paid envelope provide then SWT will send your individual and comparative results to you. It is also now possible to complete the serviced accommodation occupancy survey on-line with our survey partners BDRC, a link to which is below.
