Saving Money on your Dream Vacation

There are many ways to stretch your vacation budget and still be able to enjoy the holiday of your dreams. Many of us save for our vacation for months or even years, so you owe it to yourself to use your vacation budget wisely.

One way to save a bit of money on your accommodation is by renting Holiday Velvet apartments instead of a typical hotel. A vacation home or apartment will typically have a full kitchen. You can prepare all of your meals in the apartment without ever having to set foot in a restaurant. This can save you hundreds on food, especially if you are vacationing in an expensive area. A vacation home will be comfortable and probably more quiet than your typical hotel. Many of them even have private pools or hot tubs. They usually have laundry facilities too. Many vacation homes are in ideal locations such as near theme parks or the beach.

Plan your vacation wisely. Search multiple sites to find the best bargain. You might need to select an out of town airport or endure one or two layovers to save a few dollars. Traveling mid-week is usually more cost effective than traveling on the weekend, so compare prices between different days of the week. Online booking affords you the luxury of being able to do this with a few clicks. (more...)

While the general perception is that people can get cheaper deals if they plan in advance, there is still a possibility of traveling cheap even when you decide at the last minute.

When you are looking for Cheap Holidays you should be mindful of a few things. Here are few tips on finding yourself great economical deals for your travel. First and the foremost step in planning a quick, short holiday is to make a to-do list. Most last minute travel plans are made in a hurry. The important items that you can include in the list are carrying your travel documents, arranging for foreign currency exchange etc.

Internet is perhaps the best source for finding good travel deals. When you decide that you want to go for a holiday, you must immediately look for information over the internet. Some Unique Vacation Ideas

While many of us plan to visit a certain country or hotspot for our vacation, not too many of us plan what to do when we get there. Many vacationers are content to lay on the beach and soak up the sun for hours, while others crave adventure and excitement at every turn.

Research the area that you are vacationing in and find some great ways to take in the city. Many towns offer hot air balloon adventures that give you a birds eye view of the surrounding area. A balloon ride is a romantic and exciting way to spend at least a few hours of your vacation.

If you are staying near a large body of water, look into a boat ride. Some resorts will have brochures or agents to help you plan a trip out to sea. A boat ride might take you to some places that you wouldn't be able to see otherwise and gives you a great perspective on your vacation destination. Some resorts in tropical areas will offer sunset cruises with fully catered dinner, dancing and live entertainment. (more...)

The Best Boutique Hotels in Sydney

The idea of a boutique hotel is to provide rather more intimate and special surroundings coupled with personal service of the kind you don't get any more these days in many hotels, especially the large chains. Hotel chains are excellent value for accomodation but boutique hotels specialise in that extra "feel good" factor.

Boutique hotels in Sydney in Sydney are some of the finest in the world, with a sense of style and panache married to excellent cuisine. Some of the best known ones are the Regent’s Court in Kings Cross, the fabulous Kirketon, the Medusa, and the Establishment. These were some of the first and are still some of the smartest. There are though, several competitors springing up from people of vision and imagination like the artist Tom Storrier. Storriers is a work of art in itself with vibrant pinks and reds plus some glitzy trimmings, and all the luxury you could wish for, such as LCD flat TVs, high speed internet access, and luxury linen and toiletries.

The Medusa is another good example of what you can expect from an upmarket boutique hotel, with 17 rooms in all, including 10 Deluxe and 5 Grand Deluxe. There is an imaginative mix of some traditional, with mainly modern decor using bold colours throughout. Prices start from about £130, and facilities include a kitchenette, cable TV, minibar, a DVD and CD library, fancy chocolates and toiletries, plus free passes to local gyms. There is a stylish internal courtyard and pool which is ideal for drinks with friends or general lounging. (more...)

Buying a Caravan

Buying a caravan is a bit like buying a car in that there are a few decisions to make before you go looking at adverts for caravans for sale and asking your bank manager for a loan.

First you need to decide whether to buy new or second-hand, and there are arguments on both sides. If you buy new you will suffer quite a bit of depreciation very quickly, but of course you have the joy of having everything as it should be, with no signs of wear or tear. It probably, as for a car, comes down eventually to what you can afford.

Then there is the decision of how big a caravan you need. This will depend on how many people you want to be able to accomodate and whether it is going to be a touring van or a static one. Touring vans get rather large and cumbersome to tow on the roads if they sleep more than four people, and this tends to be a limiting factor. Even a four berth caravan can be quite large and you need to be sure you have a vehicle capable of handling it, not just on the level, but up hills as well. (more...)

Traveling on a Tight Budget

You can still enjoy a fabulous vacation with a limited budget. With a little bit of work and a lot of creativity, a dream vacation is well within your financial reach.

Saving on airline tickets is easier than you think. Purchasing mid-week is often cheaper than booking your tickets on a weekend. Airline companies often drop their prices first thing in the morning too, so the best time to book is early Tuesday or Wednesday morning. Always compare prices between several different airlines and travel websites.

Are you flexible with your travel dates? The busiest time to travel is during spring break and over the winter holiday. Instead, try to book your holiday for September or October (when the kids have gone back to school). If you are able to leave mid-week you can also save a bundle on airline tickets. The most expensive time to travel is Friday or Saturday. (more...)
